Plug & Play

Today;





I plugged in a human interface device from A4 tech, a usb mouse into a machine containing a dual boot sequence. Windows XP SP2 plus Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04.

- Was just shocked to find what plug & play is in two different OSs.

First up; Plug & Play Windows style:
Plug; wait; Found New Hardware; wait; Searching for Drivers; wait; Drivers Found; wait; Installing New Device; wait; Your New Hardware is installed but may not function properly.

Next up; Plug & Play Ubuntu style:
Plug; Play.

Well actually, about some months back, I saw Ubuntu.


Ubuntu is a Free Open Source Linux based Operating System which beats Windows Vista (the TOP VERSiON; ULTiMATE) OUT - OF - THE - BOX.


It is a weird thing.. I mean.. Vista costs you an Arm and then Third Party proprietary softwares cost you your other Arm and THEN Microsoft Office costs you both of your Legs BUT Ubuntu ONLY costs you your Common sense; And nothing else! :D


- I am talking about Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS. :)
